About the Role:
At spiderSilk, technology is at the heart of everything we do. As our IT Manager, you will own and manage our internal IT environment, ensuring every employee has a secure, reliable, and seamless technology experience.
This is a hands on role where you'll oversee everything from office infrastructure and endpoint management to identity and access management, SaaS administration, network security, and vendor relationships. You'll work closely with teams across the business, including our SOC, to build and maintain an IT environment that scales with our rapid growth.
Responsibilities
Own and manage the company's internal IT operations and infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all systems.
Manage the complete employee lifecycle from IT onboarding and offboarding through provisioning, access management, and device deployment.
Administer identity and access management platforms including Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), JumpCloud, or Google Workspace, ensuring secure authentication and access controls.
Manage endpoint and device management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Kandji, or Mosyle, enforcing security policies and compliance across company devices.
Administer Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace, including user management, licensing, collaboration tools, and security settings.
Manage and maintain office network infrastructure, including internet connectivity, WiFi access points, switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and network security policies to ensure reliable, secure connectivity.
Configure and administer enterprise networking technologies including Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, or ZScaler.
Oversee physical security systems including CCTV, access control systems, and visitor management solutions.
Coordinate with internet service providers and third party vendors to ensure service continuity, manage escalations, negotiate contracts, and monitor SLA performance.
Manage hardware assets including laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, peripherals, and accessories throughout their entire lifecycle, from procurement and deployment to retirement.
Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, software licensing, warranties, and procurement records.
Deliver responsive day to day IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and SaaS related issues with a customer first mindset.
Administer IT service management platforms such as Jira Service Management, Freshservice, ServiceNow, or Zendesk, ensuring tickets are resolved efficiently.
Maintain and continuously improve IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
Partner closely with the Security Operations team to implement and maintain endpoint security, EDR solutions, and security controls aligned with spiderSilk's cybersecurity standards.
Support compliance initiatives including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other security frameworks.
Plan, execute, and continuously improve IT infrastructure to support company growth and evolving business requirements.
Manage IT vendors, procurement budgets, service providers, and external partners while ensuring value, performance, and cost effectiveness.
Lead and mentor a small internal IT/helpdesk function as the company scales.
Requirements
5+ years of hands on experience in IT Management, IT Operations, Systems Administration, or a similar role within a fast paced technology environment.
Proven experience managing corporate IT infrastructure end to end, including endpoint fleets, user lifecycle management, and office technology.
Strong experience administering identity and access management platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), JumpCloud, or Google Workspace.
Hands on experience managing Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, Kandji, or Mosyle.
Strong Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace administration experience.
Deep understanding of enterprise networking, including firewalls, VPNs, WiFi, switches, routers, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise connectivity.
Experience with enterprise firewall technologies such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, or similar.
Experience supporting and securing endpoint devices using EDR or endpoint protection platforms.
Working knowledge of IT security best practices, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and access control.
Experience supporting compliance initiatives such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent frameworks.
Experience administering ITSM platforms including Jira Service Management, Freshservice, ServiceNow, Zendesk, or similar.
Proven experience managing hardware procurement, asset lifecycle management, and software licensing.
Experience managing CCTV systems, physical access control, and office security technologies.
Strong vendor management experience, including contract negotiation, SLA management, and budget ownership.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills across hardware, networking, operating systems, and SaaS platforms.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non technical users.
Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast moving environment.
A collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and continuous improvement.
Nice to Have
Experience working within a cybersecurity, SaaS, or high growth technology company.
Experience scaling internal IT for rapidly growing organisations.
Experience supporting hybrid or globally distributed teams.
Knowledge of automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms.
Experience managing asset lifecycle, procurement processes, and inventory systems.
Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft certifications, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Jamf, or equivalent.
